License keys are not interchangeable between the CodeCanyon and Direct (Freemius) versions of the plugin. The two versions use different licensing systems and only accept keys from their own system.
How to recognize which key belongs where
-
Freemius license key: starts with
sk_, used in the version sold directly via wpcloudplugins.com. -
Envato purchase code: a UUID4 string (looks like
xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx), used in the CodeCanyon version.
If you try to activate a Freemius key (sk_…) in the CodeCanyon plugin version, or an Envato purchase code (UUID4) in the Direct/Freemius version, activation will fail. The plugin code itself only recognizes the format of its own licensing system.
Solution: install the matching plugin version
You need to install the plugin version that matches your license type.
If you have a Freemius license (sk_…)
Install the plugin version you received with your purchase, or download it again via the download link in your purchase email, or from your Freemius account under My Licenses or My Downloads.
If you have an Envato purchase code (UUID4)
Install the plugin version from your Envato account under Downloads.
How to install the correct version
- Download the matching plugin ZIP package from the source above.
- In your WordPress Admin Dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
- Select the downloaded ZIP and press Install Now.
- WordPress will automatically replace the current plugin with the uploaded one.
Note: To prevent data loss, do not deactivate or uninstall the current version first if the Delete Modules and Settings on Uninstall setting on the plugin's Advanced tab is enabled. WordPress will replace the plugin in place when you upload the new ZIP, your modules and settings remain intact.
Switching from CodeCanyon to Direct
If you originally bought from CodeCanyon and want to move to a Direct (Freemius) license, you can convert your purchase code at wpcloudplugins.com/migrate. After conversion, install the Freemius plugin version as described above.
