The right license depends on where you buy, and how you use the plugin.
Direct customers (Freemius) — Standard or Commercial?
When you buy directly via wpcloudplugins.com, you choose between two license types. Each is available in 1, 5, 25, or Unlimited site tiers, and as annual or lifetime.
-
Standard License — for your own sites, or sites you build for clients, where the plugin is used on publicly accessible sections of websites, or for internal administrative use where customers do not receive restricted access to the plugin's functionality.
-
Commercial License — required when access to the plugin's functionality is restricted to paying customers, members, subscribers, or clients as part of a paid product or service. Examples include:
- Membership websites
- Subscription platforms
- SaaS applications
- Client portals available only to customers
- Paid digital downloads
- Customer-specific document, file, or media portals
If a Standard License is used on a commercial site, the license can be revoked. Full details and examples: documentation.wpcloudplugins.com/licensing.
CodeCanyon customers — Regular or Extended?
If you bought through CodeCanyon, two licenses are offered, both one-time purchases covering a single End Product, with unlimited updates and 6 months of free support.
- Regular License — for your own sites, or sites you build for clients, where the plugin is used on publicly accessible sections of websites, or for internal administrative use where customers do not receive restricted access to the plugin's functionality.
-
Extended License — required when access to the plugin's functionality is restricted to paying customers, members, subscribers, or clients as part of a paid product or service.
- Examples include:
- Membership websites
- Subscription platforms
- SaaS applications
- Client portals available only to customers
- Paid digital downloads
- Customer-specific document, file, or media portals
If a Regular License is used on a commercial site, the license can be revoked.
License terms: Regular · Extended.
How many licenses or sites do I need?
The principle is the same on both channels: one license activation (Direct) or one license (CodeCanyon) per End Product.

shop.organization.comthat is part of the main siteorganization.com— single End Product → single site/license - Live site + its development, staging, or localhost environment — single site/license (see the dev/staging article)
